Maya | Oil on wood, 30x40cm

Oil on backed wood panel, 30x40cm (2026).

Maya is a pianist, artist, model and personal friend. The portrait, vaguely abstract, aims to capture her natural curiosity, as well as present an air of aloof and formal detachment. Oil paint as a medium approaches and captures a person like no other representative form, rendering both wild and calm, formal and abstract, rawness and tenderness, all with an equally pointed, captivating power. From the old masters to the new, oil has been understood as the great embassador for the fine arts, performing with an unmatched flexibility, a well that is yet not fully tapped in terms of potential.
