ABOUT ME

Born in London, my family soon moved to Lebanon, where I spent my childhood, attending the German School of Jounieh and learning French and Arabic in the process.

Being raised speaking English and German later helped me settle into Austrian culture as a young adult – and even later dare the move to Scotland for my bachelor’s degree at the Mackintosh School of Architecture, after which I returned to Vienna to pursue a master’s degree at the Technical University.

I pride myself on my ability to be fascinated by my surroundings, and rarely satisfied in the face of half-hearted answers to complex questions. I also hope my past and future experiences will do their part in advancing my trade and strengthening my resolve to positively contribute to the field of architecture and our way of experiencing and understanding it.

EDUCATION

Matura | Schottengymnasium der Wiener Benediktiner | Vienna, Austria

Viennese grammar school founded by the Benedictines. Graduated with distinction (Ausgezeichneter Erfolg) and continued to stay involved as a member of the alumni group ‘Alt-Schotten’.

sep 2017 – jun 2020

BSc in Architecture | Mackintosh School of Architecture | Glasgow, UK

Joined the Glasgow School of Art’s architecture program in Scotland’s capital and completed the undergraduate’s degree under the tutelage of Dr. Luca Brunelli and Tilo Einert.

MSc in Architecture | Technical University of Vienna | Vienna, Austria

Returned to Vienna and began studying at the Technical University with the goal of achieving the title of graduate engineer (Diplom-Ingenieur) under the tutelage of Dr. Christian Kühn.

Localization Tester | Pole To Win UK Ltd | Glasgow, UK

Testing video games pre-launch and compiling comprehensive language and user interface reports before release in the German-speaking market (Square Enix and Ubisoft properties primarily).

sep 2020 – dec 2020

Design Engineer Intern | Wienerberger AG | Vienna, Austria

Digitalized modular building elements via 3D scanner and reworked those scans into polygonal mesh models for structural and eco-efficiency testing. Work progress was supervised by Lieven Sanders, regional head of corporate engineering and head of the engineering department’s roof sector.

Architectural Intern | Berger Lenz Architekten | Klosterneuburg, Austria

Summer internship in a small studio handling a lot of work. Tasks were varied and never monotonous, ranging from digital modeling and CAD-work to physical maquettes and client prep. Organization and communication in close quarters were key ingredients in delivering positive results.

mar 2022 – aug 2022

Architectural Intern | Schenker Salvi Weber Architekten | Vienna, Austria

6 month internship primarily working on both international and local competitions, as well as approval and construction planning. Critical skills to acquire included effective ArchiCAD workflow in a team, as well as modelling iterations, arguing design choices and understanding the mechanics behind a large office with a variety of clients and project types.

Junior Architect | Architekten Tillner & Willinger | Vienna, Austria

Part-time role at an office that has distinguished itself in the field of urban design, and produces award-winning architecture in Vienna’s social housing, office and retail sectors. Competitions in urban planning, the refurbishment of listed buildings and a strong involvement in maintaining and expanding a small, work-intensive office are a few of the key tasks.
